At the webinar series of the African Institute for Sustainable Energy and Systems Analysis (AISESA), Dakar, Senegal, on August 27, 2026, Prof. Joyashree Roy participated online as a panelist speaker on “ Inclusive energy transition in an era of Political economy of exclusion”. She explained: both inclusive urban development and energy transitions are essential for the sustainable prosperity of people in the Global South. During this century, the downtrodden aspiring to grow economically will face massive socio-political wrath. What the planet needs is governance that allows the scientifically empowered human spirit to work in a liberated space, create diverse channels of interaction for overcoming everyday hurdles, and achieve quantified results in ongoing long-term progress through continuous give-and-take.
