Dr. Firuz Ahamed Nahid at the "Energy, Policy, Act and Regulatory Framework Development", 17–19 March 2025

We are pleased to share that SMARTS Center’s Postdoctoral Researcher Dr. Firuz Ahamed Nahid, participated as a resource person in the International Training Course on "Energy, Policy, Act and Regulatory Framework Development", held from 17–19 March 2025. The training was organized by AIT Extension for 13 officials from the Department of Energy, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Bhutan, with the goal of enhancing institutional capacity in developing effective and resilient energy systems.

Dr. Nahid delivered sessions covering sustainable energy transitions, energy policy frameworks, stakeholder engagement, and the socio-economic impacts of energy policies. Drawing on both global best practices and regional experiences—including insights from Bangladesh’s and Thailand’s clean energy transition—he emphasized the importance of integrated and inclusive approaches to energy planning and governance.
