We at SMARTS Center, Asian Institute of Technology are pleased to share about our participation in the 1st International Research Community for Strategic Emissions Reduction in Asia (SERA) Workshop, held from July 14th to 15th, 2025 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The Institute of Energy Economics, Japan (IEEJ) and Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) co-hosted the 1st International Research Community for SERA Workshop at ERIA headquarters.
SMARTS-AIT Director and Co-Chair of Steering Group SERA, Prof. Joyashree Roy gave the opening remarks and highlighted the need of SERA community as an initiative to develop insights on energy systems of Asian region and to better communicate the regional challenges and opportunities.
Dr. Firuz Ahamed Nahid and Pooja Sankhyayan jointly made a presentation on alternative strategies and challenges for low-emission power sector for the developing Asian region with focus on sectoral CO 2 emission, past and future clean energy, integrated supply and demand side strategies and stranded assets.
