Bangabandhu Chair Professor Joyashree Roy at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Boston, USA in September 2021

Bangabandhu Chair Professor Joyashree Roy felicitated the collaboration with Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Boston, USA, for a fully funded Student Visit Programme on "Experiential learning of Maritime Business and Climate Change" at AIT in 2020. The student visit programme will be offered under the AIT Extension unit of Asian Institute of Technology, for 16 visit students from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. The student visit programme was initially scheduled in February 2020 but was postponed due to the covid-19 travel restrictions.

During her visit to the USA in September 2021, Bangabandhu Chair Professor Joyashree Roy was invited by the Massachusetts Maritime Academy to deliver a talk on "21st Century Economic Development and Climate Strategies: The Maritime Role". The event took place on 22 September 2021, at the Flanagan Hall, Boston, USA.

 

Prof. Roy met the students and faculty members of Massachusetts Maritime Academy, and gave her insights on the role

of maritime in the economic developments, formulating new climate strategies for growth of the nations. She also published a blog article on "Maritime in 21st Century Economic Growth Agenda" in changeframing.space website. In her blog, she wrote, "It is a given fact that in the 21st century, the human aspiration for dignified and sustainable living has to happen in a warmer world."
