SMARTS Book Chapter Showcase and Handover at the AIT Library Day 2026
SMARTS was pleased to participate in the AIT Library Day 2026 and showcase our recent publication, “Toward Gender and Climate Justice: Women, Climate Action Projects for Accelerated Transition, and Transformative Change in the Global South,” published in The Oxford Handbook of Climate Action (OUP, 2026), edited by Paul Almeida.
Co-authored by Prof. Joyee S. Chatterjee, Sirayuth Thongprasert, Parimita Mohanty, and Prof. Joyashree Roy, the chapter is an output of the EDITS-AIT project. It uses our Continuum of Approaches on Gender and Climate Action framework to examine the enablers and barriers shaping progress toward gender-transformative climate action.
At a moment when bold and effective climate action is more urgent than ever, The Oxford Handbook of Climate Action is a timely and essential global resource, bringing together interdisciplinary scholarship from across the globe on the ideas, movements, policies, and strategies shaping our collective response to the climate crisis.
The event provided an opportunity to bring this research to the wider AIT community. To mark the occasion, the SMARTS team donated a copy of the handbook to the AIT Library, received by the Library Director, Ms. Watcharin Intha.
