The Jahangirnagar University of Bangladesh has established the Institute of Remote Sensing and GIS (IRS-JU) aiming to develop theoretical and technical skills of students and professionals on geospatial techniques. IRS-JU has arranged an Inaugural Ceremony of the MSc programme of the institute which will be held on Tuesday, 2nd of November 2021 at 4:00 PM Dhaka Time) on a virtual platform.
Dr. Shamsul Alam, Honorable Minister of State, Ministry of Planning, and Professor Dr. Md. Sazzad Hossain, Member, University Grants Commission (UGC) have given their consent to be present in the event as the Chief Guest and Special Guest respectively. Bangabandhu Chair Professor Dr. Joyashree Roy from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, and Dr. Birendra Bajracharya, Programme Coordinator (MENRIS), ICIMOD, Nepal will join in the ceremony as the Guests of Honor. The Honorable Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Jahangirnagar University Professor Dr. Farzana Islam will be present as the Chair.
