Bridging theory and practice to train future leaders in sustainable plastics research. SMARTS-AIT hosted the Circular plastic economy (CPEN) first hybrid meeting. AIT President welcomed the overseas guests from Universities in Indonesia and UK who were present in person at AIT. It was led by CPEN CO-PIs SMARTS -AIT centre director Professor Joyashree Roy and Dr Eleni Iacovidou of Brunel University London at the Asian Institute of Technology, from 16th- 18th October 2024. The programme included discussions between and feedback from CPEN core network members and external stakeholders from academia, business, government and civil society. The core members of the network also visited the Indorama Polyester Industries PCL. at Nakhon Pathom to get a perspective of the plastic recycling industry. Post doctoral researcher Dr. Satabdi Datta, Research Associates Prathana Panwar and Sirayuth Thongprasert provided support.
