“Bridging Theory and Practice to Train Future Leaders in Sustainable Plastics Research.” 24th – 26th March

The Circular Plastic Economy Network (CPEN) project continues with the second in-person meeting on “Bridging Theory and Practice to Train Future Leaders in Sustainable Plastics Research.” Set on 24th – 26th March at the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. Through the three days, the CPEN members discussed, deliberated, and designed training modules that will best suit leaders and professionals to drive a circular plastic economy.

The highlight of the event was on the 25th March when stakeholders from various expertise, countries (Indonesia, Thailand, UK) and different points of the plastic value chain including major plastic producers, financial institutions, government representatives, NGOs, and CBOs; consumer associations, waste management providers, and academia joined in-person and online. In the meeting, we received feedback on our training modules through a series of votes, keywords, and suggestions via Slido. The valuable feedback will be the foundation for us to advance our CPEN project.
